Must be adaptable to menu changes and be able to meet meal and snack schedules.
Ensures safe food preparations and proper sanitation methods are used and maintains a safe kitchen/pantry.
Includes administrative requirements required by USDA, including documentation and meal planning and menus, food pantry, and staff events.
Responsible for the safe operation of our site kitchens and food pantry.
Ensure all requirements, to comply with safety and compliance with local and State regulations, are adhered to.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 65% Food Preparation Adhere to food safety regulations.
Coordinate food pantry ordering, collection, delivery, and shelving.
Ensure cleanliness and proper sanitation requirements are met in all food prep areas, kitchens, and spaces.
Ensure Family Tree Relief Nursery meets and exceeds accommodations and notification of ingredients that may trigger food allergies or intolerance.
Manage inventory and purchases for all FTRN kitchen needs.
Manage product storage, maintenance, and rotation activities to avoid any damages or spoilages.
Organize, plan, and prepare food for the classroom, nurturing parenting evening classes, events, and staff requirements.
Prepare healthy meals to Relief Nursery classrooms based on pre-planned menus; comply with all counties, state, and USDA health, safety, and nutrition guidelines and regulations.
25% Administration Complete all USDA documentation as required.
Comply with all sanitation, safety, and nutrition guidelines and regulations.
Coordinate the ordering, pick up, purchase, and delivery of food and supplies for food service for FTRN.
Create menus for the classroom that comply with all counties, state, and USDA regulations.
Keep up to date with daily, weekly and monthly requirements for all food services such as cleaning, maintenance, dishwasher, and refrigerator temperature checks.

Attend and participate in required supervision, team meetings, All Staff meetings, and training as required.
Attend community, work, and family events as assigned.
Complete all data and reports in the timeframes stipulated.
Comply with all health and safety standards per state regulations.
Comply with state guidelines regarding mandated reporting of suspected abuse and/or neglect.
Document hours and mileage in accordance with Relief Nursery policy.

Maintain an acceptable driving record, driver's license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance while employed at Family Tree Relief Nursery.
Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Relief Nursery policies.
Serve as a member of one Family Tree Relief Nursery Committee:
Safety, Social Engagement, or Self-Care.
Carrying out duties of this committee as agreed during regular meetings.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Associate degree in a related field and one-year experience in large-scale kitchen production.
All work performed shall be in alignment with the philosophy and in keeping with the mission and values of Family Tree Relief Nursery.
Basic knowledge of child maltreatment indicators and prevention of abuse; must attend or have a record or recent training in mandatory reporting.
Exhibit dependability, flexibility, punctuality, and strong time management skills.
Have or obtain and maintain Oregon Food Handler's Card & Adult and Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification.
Knowledge of child development and nutritional requirements for early education ages.
Knowledge of inventory systems.
Knowledge of sanitation and safety procedures prescribed for large-scale kitchen production.
Maintain enrollment in the State Child Care Division Central Background Registry Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver's license for your state of residency, personal auto liability coverage, and a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy.
All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle must complete the agency's driving approval process before they drive for work.
PHYSICAL DEMAND Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, reach, manipulate, carry, and key/type.
Requires occasionally lifting to 25 lbs.
ATTENDANCE All employees are expected to comply with company attendance standards.
SAFETY All employees are expected to comply with company safety standards.
FLSA STATUS (Fair Labor Standards Act) This is a Non-Exempt position.
