Job Description :
Peterson CAT in Albany has an immediate opening for an AG Field Technician. Reporting to Field Service Supervisor, performs service activities at job sites and customer locations for customer and/or sales and rental fleet equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Maintain a safe working environment and observe all safety procedures, laws, policies, and rules.
Communicate with internal and external customers in a manner that promotes a positive relationship.
Work overtime as needed within labor law guidelines.
Perform the following service operations on AGCO, Caterpillar and allied equipment with occasional supervision:
Analyze and diagnose equipment malfunctions
Repair, replace or rebuild engines, transmissions, fuel systems, final drives, steering clutches, cross-shafts, hydraulic components including pumps, motors, valves, and all related components, electrical and air systems
Write service reports that accurately document diagnosis and repairs performed
Prepare required documentation including work orders, parts lists, and time cards in an accurate and timely manner to enable other employees to do their job in a timely manner
Ensure assigned company vehicle maintains a clean professional appearance and is in proper working order.
Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
Job Requirements :

Maintain an acceptable safe driving record
Lift truck operator certificate
Maintain a tool inventory sufficient to perform assigned tasks
Possess a current Commercial Driver's License
Must have excellent proficiency on menu driven main-frame computer systems and with AGCO and CAT PC and windows driven software
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in a related field and six (6) years heavy equipment service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write coherent and logical service reports that can be understood by internal and external customers
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands and fingers to grasp and to perform mechanical service activities. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and to pull and apply rotation force on stationary and moveable objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

The employee will regularly work around moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to vibration, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. This position requires the employee to work outdoors in inclement weather and can experience periods of extreme heat, cold, and dampness.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
