The Albany Democrat-Herald, a 14,000-circulation daily newspaper in the heart of Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley, has an opening for a general assignment reporter. We're looking for a versatile reporter capable of contributing to both our print and online editions. The ability to write clearly and concisely, the ability to develop news reports on your own initiative and without direction, and the news judgment necessary to determine what does or does not make a story is essential. The ability to create content for the Web and a comfort using multimedia platforms is required.

## Qualifications
Must have a degree in journalism or equivalent combination of experience and education
Previous experience on a daily newspaper a plus
Minimal page design will be required weekly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work flexible schedule which will include nights, weekends and holidays
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated skill and ability with Multi-media platforms
Demonstrated news writing and reporting ability
Ability to meet deadlines and work within a fast paced environment
Work within a team environment
Reliable transportation, license and insurance required

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
